Banff & Canmore Executive Offsite Facilitation
Banff and Canmore give leadership teams useful distance from daily operations, but the setting does not create an outcome by itself. FUSE combines firsthand Rockies delivery experience with decision-led agenda design, neutral facilitation, and an explicit record of what the team will do next.
Why hold an executive offsite in Banff or Canmore?
The Canadian Rockies create physical and psychological distance from normal operating pressure while remaining accessible from Calgary. The location is most valuable when the agenda uses that protected time for strategic choices, relationship work, or a leadership reset that cannot be completed between ordinary meetings.
Firsthand FUSE Delivery in the Rockies
FUSE has facilitated multi-day and large-group work at The Malcolm Hotel in Canmore and across the Banff–Canmore area. Our published work includes a three-day retreat for more than 100 Agile coaches and a company-wide vision alignment retreat for 65 financial-services professionals at The Malcolm.
That experience informs practical design choices: how to sequence demanding work around travel and meals, when the setting can support reflection, how to use breakout spaces, and how to preserve the retreat's working purpose without over-programming every hour.
What FUSE Facilitates
- Executive strategy and portfolio offsites
- Leadership-team operating-model and relationship resets
- Board and management retreats
- Company-wide vision or priority alignment
- Open Space and other large-group participation formats
- Post-merger, transformation, or annual-planning sessions
A Clear Boundary Between Facilitation and Venue Logistics
FUSE scopes the professional work: discovery, session architecture, facilitation, materials, and the agreed harvest. We can provide venue criteria and share firsthand observations, then coordinate with your event lead or the venue team.
Venue availability, guest rooms, food and beverage, transportation, audiovisual services, recreation, and cancellation terms belong to the applicable supplier contract unless a proposal explicitly says otherwise. This keeps procurement transparent and prevents an attractive venue package from obscuring the work your team is buying.
How FUSE Scopes and Prices This Work
FUSE provides a fixed-scope proposal after a discovery conversation. We do not publish a made-up day rate because two sessions of the same duration can require very different discovery, design, facilitation, and follow-through. The proposal separates our professional work from optional venue, travel, production, or specialist costs so procurement teams can see exactly what they are buying.
What changes the scope
- The decision or outcome the group must produce
- Participant count, stakeholder complexity, and accessibility needs
- Discovery interviews, document review, and custom design required
- Session length, format, location, and number of facilitators
- Decision records, synthesis, coaching, or implementation follow-through
What our proposal includes
- A named engagement lead and agreed statement of outcomes
- Session architecture, agenda, exercises, and facilitator preparation
- Professional facilitation in the agreed in-person, virtual, or hybrid format
- A written record of decisions, owners, and next steps when included in scope
- Clear assumptions, exclusions, payment terms, and change-control terms

Does FUSE have an office in Banff or Canmore?
No. FUSE is headquartered in Calgary and travels to Banff and Canmore for engagements. This page describes a proven delivery destination, not a local office or storefront.
How far are Banff and Canmore from Calgary?
Canmore is roughly 100 kilometres west of Calgary and Banff is about 25 kilometres farther. Actual travel time varies with starting point, traffic, weather, and road conditions, so event plans should use current transportation guidance.
Will FUSE book the venue?
We can help define venue criteria and coordinate with your event lead. The client normally contracts directly with the venue so rates, room commitments, cancellation terms, and supplier responsibilities remain clear.
How early should we start planning?
Begin as soon as the core participants and dates are known. Popular dates and group room blocks can require significant lead time, while discovery and custom agenda design normally need several weeks.
